Big Easy Jr. has teamed up with DC Comics and Tubby & Coo’s Mid-City Book Shop to create a mega fun reading program for the month of October!

Reading is Magic Program
HOW IT WORKS:
1) Parents, sign up your child using the online form – a packet will be emailed to you containing:
- (1) Printable Tracking Sheet
- (1) Book Recommendation list
- (1) Discount coupon for Tubby & Coo’s Mid-City Book Shop
- (1) Code for a FREE Kid admission to Big Easy Con
- (1) Discount code for regular admission to Big Easy Con
2) Print out the ‘Reading is Magic’ tracking sheet
3) Help your child create their own magizoologist character! – They should pick the character’s name and draw what they look like. – Their character is on a quest to “collect” 4 magical creatures—by reading books about them!
4) Your child should read four or more books during the month of October, each about a different magical creature. They’ll be hunting a monster, a dragon, a unicorn, and a beast of their choosing! (See tracking sheet) – A list of suggested books is provided for you and your child, and Tubby and Coo’s is offering participants a special discount!
5) Come to Big Easy Con on Sunday, November 3rd at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center for a celebration! Participants can collect participation and completion prizes, plus enjoy the comic con event!
Big Easy Con is a pop culture and comic convention for all ages.
Every participant will get a FREE weekend kid’s pass to the event and a discount code for regular passes too! (Kids tickets are for ages 3-10.)
